the New Mistake single/EP
New Mistake
New Mistake: the missing "album"

New Mistake was (i believe) the 2nd single off of Jellyfish's 2nd album, Spilt Milk. This album turned out to be the last from Sturmer/Manning, but we have one more 10-song collection from these musical geniuses: the New Mistake single. Released only in Japan and available only as an expensive import, it features many of the demos for the album Spilt Milk. These demos are VERY high quality (most bands would have released these demos as a real album) and they give unique insight into how much went into the real album. Other songs are leftover demos from the later Beatnik Beatch days (the beginning of jellyfish) and 2 Beatnik Beatch-released songs are actually on here. Of course, they were Jelly-ized and rewritten slightly and recorded AFTER Bellybutton came out. Also appearing are "Family Tree", a cool song that Roger wrote that didn't make the cut for Spilt Milk and the amazing "Ignorance Is Bliss". That song was written for a Nintendo Compilation CD and it's about the Super Mario Brothers video game. Sounds stupid, but it's really catchy and very well arranged.

Song List

New Mistake
All Is Forgiven (Demo)
Russian Hill (Demo)
Sebrina, Paste and Plato (Demo)
The Man I Used to Be (Demo)
Bedspring Kiss (Demo)
Watchin' the Rain (beatnik leftover)
Family Tree
Worthless Heart (excellent beatnik leftover)
Ignorance is Bliss

I highly recommend this to anybody who has both albums and wants more. Don't pay more than $30 for this gem, though... unless you HAVE to.
